Ron coined the time period POPaganda to embody a message of cultural touchstones from superhero mythology to totems of artwork historical past, populated with authentic characters, together with MC Supersized, the fast-food mascot featured within the film Tremendous Measurement Me, and Abraham Obama, a fusion of America’s sixteenth and forty fourth Presidents. English has a historical past of making quirky characters akin to three-eyed rabbits, cowgirls, and grinning skulls, all very visible with humorous designs.
In 2005, English started creating designer toy variations of his creatures and has created a whole bunch of designer toy collectibles bought and avidly collected worldwide.
From Ron:
My work and characters come from the mini world wherein they dwell. Earlier than I paint, I create sculptures of every character and the encompassing world wherein they dwell, out of air-dried clay. I’ve been watching the rise of blockchain-based NFT artworks and I’m excited to see my creations come to life as 2D and 3D digital collectible NFTs in VeVe’s digital world.
